COREnet and EU4Advice projects attended the “Clustering meeting of Horizon-funded thematic and advisory networks, and AKIS-related project” organised by REA and DG-AGRI from the European Commission in Brussels, on 26-27th June 2025.
The event was aimed at promoting the interaction and networking among similar projects, understanding insights, tools and gaps toward common initiatives.
The first day was opened with an overview on current support for AKIS under CAP and EU R&I Programme given by DG-AGRI, then specific sessions were dedicated about “Advisory services across the EU”, where some projects were presented. Among those, Fedele Colantuono and Patricia Mora presented respectively CORENET and EU4Advice, together with NBSoil & ClimateSmartAdvisors, sharing experiences and common points for cooperation. The other sessions were addressed to “Advisory Networks”, with presentations from OrganicAdviceNetwork.
Some tailored panel discussions was organised to talk about “Strategies to Enhance Advisory Services in EU Member States” and “Effective Dissemination of R&I results to farmers” where interesting aspects resulted given similar situations that projects partners are facing within their projects and in their countries for advisory networks inclusion into AKIS.
The second day was dedicated to spotlight on new AKIS projects funded under WP2024, giving the opportunity to each new project for a short pitch, followed by a special session on “Advancing AKIS synergies” with projects Insights on: EU-FarmBook, ATTRACTISS, ModernAKIS and PREMIERE. The following panel discussions among speakers and participants was about fostering cooperation among AKIS-related projects.
Before concluding the event, a workshop was held organising different working groups to deal with specific aspects on highlighting key aspects and gaps for “Turning innovation into impact: Delivering high-quality practice-oriented output” led by EU-FarmBook, PREMIERE and ATTRACTISS.
All attendants took advantage of every moment of the event to make new contacts, evaluate possible synergies and also think of future joint initiatives, thanks also to networking coffee and lunch breaks.
For COREnet and EU4Advice, a series of new possibilities with similar projects will arise after this fruitful meeting, being short food supply chain advisors transversal to other Horizon EU advisory and thematic networks.
