COREnet will participate in Cities Leading Food Production, taking place as part of VIV Europe 2026 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, from 2 to 4 June 2026. The event will bring together policymakers, city representatives, farmers, advisors, innovators and other food system stakeholders to discuss practical solutions for more resilient and sustainable food supply chains.
Together with EU4Advice, COREnet will contribute to the programme with the workshop “European Short Food Supply Chains examples and advisors’ role”, scheduled for 3 June, from 15:00 to 16:00.
The workshop is organised by Jan Willem van der Schans from COREnet, with Mark Frederiks, EU4Advice partner from the Netherlands, as co-organiser. It will explore different models of SFSCs, highlighting practical examples from across Europe and encouraging reflection on current developments in the sector. It will also address the role of advisors in supporting farmers, local actors and policymakers in strengthening SFSCs and turning good practices into actionable knowledge.
Participants interested in policy, advisory services, local food systems and innovative approaches to food supply chains are invited to join the workshop and take part in the discussion.
