CORENET GOLDEN CASE WINS EU ORGANIC AWARD
Peskesi restaurant in Crete recognised as ‘best organic restaurant/food caterer’ at the 2025 EU Organic Awards
We are proud to share that a COREnet Golden Case has been recognised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development at the 4th EU Organic Awards, held on the occasion of EU Organic Day 2025.
The award for best organic restaurant/food caterer went to Peskesi, a pioneering restaurant based in Heraklion, Crete. Since 2014, Peskesi has embraced a holistic “Farm to Table” and “Table to Farm” philosophy, combining its own organic farm with partnerships with 98% local producers. Internationally celebrated, the restaurant is reviving Cretan gastronomy through sustainable farming, zero-waste practices, and cultural initiatives that safeguard traditional recipes, native varieties, and local identity.
This recognition highlights how COREnet Golden Cases capture and share innovative, community-driven practices that strengthen sustainable food systems across Europe.
