CALL FOR PROPOSALS: CORENET LIGHTHOUSE PROJECTS FOR SFSC ADVISORS ACROSS THE EU

Starting in April 2025, the COREnet project invites SFSC advisors to submit proposals for Lighthouse Projects that highlight and share innovative SFSC advising practices.

The call seeks to identify and support 27 innovative projects from across Europe (one per member state) that aim to highlight and share successful Short Food Supply Chain (SFSC) advising innovations or adapt existing innovations within their respective countries.

The Lighthouse Projects will act as a beacon of progress, showcasing the relationship between SFSC advising and marketplace performance while promoting the wider adoption of SFSC advising innovations. These projects will also be integral in expanding the impact of SFSC advisory services and increasing the overall effectiveness of local and regional food systems. Furthermore, one of their main aspects is the possible direct link to COREnet’s Golden Cases as a source of inspiration for innovative advisory practices, also mentioning their value as a detailed reference.

Objectives of the call include:

  • Improve SFSC advisory services at the national level.
  • Strengthen peer learning and networking among SFSC advisors.
  • Share knowledge and best practices across Europe.

Projects can apply to the initiative by filling out this form.

Eligible applicants are SFSC advisors who are registered in the COREnet SFSC Advisor Database. Applicants can be individual advisors, cooperatives, advisory bodies, NGOs, or institutions, and they must be based in an EU member state. Successful projects will contribute to the advancement of one of the following SFSC organizational types:

  • Farmer-centred SFSC Initiatives: Direct sales from a single farm or food processor to many consumers.
  • Farmer-SFSC collaborations: Groups of farmers working together to improve cost-efficiency and enable direct sales to consumers.
  • Farmer-Consumer SFSC collaboration: Co-created SFSC models where producers, consumers, and stakeholders share costs, risks, and benefits.

Lighthouse Projects will receive funding to cover advisory services, mentoring, workshops, training, study visits, collaboration with COREnet’s Golden Cases, and outreach activities.
