CORENET PROJECT ENGAGES WITH LOCAL AGRIFOOD SECTOR AT “ACCORCIAMO LE DISTANZE” EVENT IN THE FOGGIA PROVINCE

Prof. Gianluigi De Pascale shares insights on short supply chains and COREnet’s impact at the farmers’ market workshop in Castelluccio Valmaggiore.

On 19th October, the COREnet project coordinator, Prof. Gianluigi De Pascale from University of Foggia, attended the event “Accorciamo le distanze – Mercati di Capitanata” (Let’s shorten the distances – farmer’ markets of Capitanata) organised by the  farmers association Confagricoltura Foggia in Castelluccio Valmaggiore.
This initiative was held within the project “Accorciamo le distanze – Mercati di Capitanata” promoted by Confagricoltura Foggia and financed by the the Rural Development Program 2014-2022 measure 16 “Cooperation” – sub-measure 16.4, aimed at valorising and promoting typical local products, agricultural businesses, rural tradition and the rediscovery of culture, through the growth of short supply chains and direct sales.

Prof. De Pascale contributed to the workshop “The short supply chain as a commercial strategy and the CAP” with a presentation about the project COREnet and its main results. Some COREnet flyers were also distributed to attract people’s interest in our initiatives. This event represented an opportunity for networking at local level among actors of the Dauni Mountains cities (mainly farmers, advisors and policy makers of the local agrifood system), interested in further opportunities coming from COREnet and concurring to the territory growth.
